Why Parenting is Like a College Party

New page – enjoy the ecards describing why I think parenting is like a college party!

First, you tend to act with abandon at a college party – you don’t care where you get your kicks, as long as you get them. This is much like parenting, when you grab the goods whenever and wherever there is two seconds of opportunity:

Of course, there’s always the frat parties. Even if you were never invited to one, you might have crashed one at some point. You walk in and shit is just everywhere – beer bottles on the floor, pizza on the ceiling and no sign of tabletop space for miles. Then this happens:

Stumbling home after the college parties always meant going back to an apartment. With all the partying and some of the studying we had to do, no one had time to clean! The house was just as messy then as it is now:

And finally, who the hell was going to party all night then take a nap before class? Not us, because we were the future parents who would stay up all night with our children. Just slam a pot or two, you’ll be fine!

That’s it! This is why parenting is just like a college party. Think of it like that, especially after your child has ripped the stuffing from the couch, booby trapped the kitchen with Legos, dumped the toilet paper down the stairs and is currently screaming at the top of his or her lungs because you can’t find the binky. Just think of it as one continuing party from your college days, and for God’s sake, don’t forget the cheap wine.
