I have brought back my weekly craft blog after a short springtime hiatus! I will continue to find pictures of beautiful crafts and activities with directions, then try to replicate those images to see if they work. My daughter often joins me on these ventures.
This week, we found this blog: http://www.thecraftycrow.net/2011/06/a-book-a-craft-chasing-degas-and-paperdoll-ballerinas.html
It’s a terrific blog concept *wink*. We started with some materials that varied slightly from the recommended list. We used card stock, tissue paper and crayons. I traced the template by placing a white piece of paper over the computer screen.
We folded the card stock over, and I tried to make the paper doll chain. Unfortunately, I’ve never learned to make a paper doll chain, and unfortunately, this site doesn’t come with those instructions. So, while the template was very simple to follow, making the chain was impossible due to user error. We decorated the template instead:
My assessment on this project is that it can be fun, if the user learns how to make a paper doll chain before attempting the project. It is very cute, and very easy for those who can fold the paper correctly. The author of the blog did a great job explaining the craft, but she did forget to account for those who can’t make a paper chain. I guess we are the minority!
My wife and i have been very excited John managed to round up his survey out of the ideas he received when using the web site. It’s not at all simplistic to simply always be offering helpful hints that people could have been selling. And we all do know we’ve got you to thank because of that. Most of the illustrations you have made, the easy web site menu, the friendships your site make it easier to engender – it is everything spectacular, and it’s assisting our son and us reason why this matter is thrilling, and that is highly serious. Thanks for all the pieces!
